Improved airport connections

Following customer feedback, we are pleased to announce that from Monday 22 September 2025, we will have more early and late journeys to Southampton Airport.
Our Unilink U1A service goes directly to the airport door, which is ideal for shift workers at the airport or handy for those early morning and late evening flights.
The first bus from Southampton city centre towards the airport will now leave at 04:17 and the last bus from the airport at night leaves at 00:40 arriving in the city centre at 0112.
U1 route frequency:
- Monday - Friday during University of Southampton term times, buses are up to every 8 minutes
- Monday - Friday during University of Southampton vacations, buses are up to every 10 minutes
- Saturdays - buses are up to every 10 minutes
- Sundays & Public Holidays - buses are up to every 10 minutes
Fares
We want to remind you that all single bus trips are capped at £3 or if you need to use more than one bus, a dayrider offers great value as you can use Bluestar buses too. A Southampton Zone dayrider is priced at just £4.30. you can buy it on our app or just tap on tap off with your contactless bank card and the correct fare will be calculated for you.
If you do work at the airport and travel daily, we have monthly passes available via our app which can take your daily travel costs down to less than £2 per day. A 30 day Southampton zone pass is just £53.
