Unilink and Bluestar are continuing support for sporting events in the region, by offering free travel for those taking part in this weekend’s ABP Southampton Marathon.
We are expecting a busy time as marathon-fever grips the city - and all participants need do is show their race number or official event ID to bus drivers for free travel throughout Sunday 23 April.
“The ABP Southampton Marathon is one of the south coast’s premier sporting events and involves a great number of local people - as well as many from further afield - whether they are running, officiating or volunteering,” said Unilink and Bluestar managing director, Andrew Wickham.
“As with our previous support for those living in the area - offering free travel to Saints fans during the recent cup final - we are keen to encourage as many people as possible to leave their cars at home. We know how important this event is to the city, and want to play our part in helping it run as smoothly as possible.
“We’d like to wish all those involved the very best of luck for a successful event on Sunday - whether they are participating or part of the organising team.”
There will also be a number of diversions during the event on Sunday for both our Unilink and Bluestar servivces which means we will be unable to serve some bus stops. Customers wishing to travel on Sunday should check online for full details or pop into our Travel Shop to pick up a leaflet with diversion details inside.
